Terms of Service

What the service does

As a requester you create a verification request for a blockchain address on a given chain, with an optional reference and expiry. You receive a link to send to your counterparty through your own channel.

Your counterparty opens the link and signs a plain-text challenge with the wallet that controls the address, in their own wallet or by pasting a signature produced elsewhere. We verify that signature against the address on the correct chain and, if it verifies, issue a certificate recording the address, the challenge, the signature and the time.

If you chose to anchor, we publish a one-way hash of the certificate to public blockchains (Polygon and Bitcoin). This creates a permanent, public record that the certificate existed at that time. It reveals nothing beyond the hash.

What a certificate proves — and what it does not

A certificate proves that the holder of the private key for the address signed the exact challenge shown, at the time recorded, and — if anchored — that the certificate existed by the anchor time. This can be verified independently, without trusting us, and survives even if we cease to operate.

A certificate does NOT prove the identity of the signer, that control of the key is exclusive, that the key was not shared or coerced, or that the signer is your customer. Binding a certificate to a real-world identity is your responsibility and comes from your own KYC.

You must not represent a certificate as proof of identity, and must not rely on it as such.

We never ask for a key

We never request or accept a private key or seed phrase, and no transaction is ever requested — the counterparty only signs a message. Anyone presenting our service as a page that collects a seed phrase, private key, or payment is misusing it; report such misuse to support@blockchainanalysis.io.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you use certificates and for the identity binding, if any, that you attach to them. The reference you set is shown to the counterparty and stored on the certificate; keep it appropriate and non-sensitive.

You must have a lawful basis to ask a counterparty to prove control of an address, and to record the resulting certificate.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service to deceive a person into signing a challenge they do not understand, to harass, or for any purpose unlawful in the jurisdictions that apply to you.

Anyone may report misuse of a request link to support@blockchainanalysis.io. On a valid report we may disable the link and suspend the account that created it.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability. Anchoring depends on public blockchains and third-party timestamping networks whose timing we do not control.

To the extent permitted by law, Aletheia Tech Ltd's liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the preceding twelve months.
